Day 42: On The Road Again

4/27/20, mile: 374, elevation: 6,591 ft.

I didn’t get much of my re-packing done the night before, so I was up early with the sun to finish up my packages and pack. One Liter and I were going to get a ride with Dock into town to the post office and store, then up to the road closed gate.

There was a fiasco at the post office, so Dock offered to hand delivery my boxes to me at the next stop for less than the cost of what shipping would be. Now that’s a fine offer!. While One Liter waited for the P.O. to open so he could retrieve his package, Dock dropped me off at the gate. For the first time on this trip, I plugged in my ear buds and listened to music as I walked. I have to say, it sure makes a shitty road walk go easier. Sarah had made me a Spotify playlist; all with songs about walking, even including Johnny Cash. She thought it was a joke, but I actually really enjoyed it. Thank you very much, Honey.

It’s good to be back on the trail. Back to where I’m responsible for what and when things happen; good or bad.

My destination for the day was a parking lot right at the base of Mt. Baden-Powell. With the road closed, it was just hikers hanging out. I’m preparing to leave early so have the stiffest snow through the day.

Savior out.
